Tradesman

The Tradesman trim offers the widest variety of options. For 2WD, you can choose between a 60-inch or 84-inch crew cab or a 60-inch or 84-inch regular cab. In 4WD, the options expand to include 60-inch and 84-inch crew cabs, along with 60-inch, 84-inch, 108-inch, and 120-inch regular cabs. The Tradesman’s 2WD 84-inch regular cab is considered the base model of the lineup.

SLT

In 2WD, you can select either a 60-inch or 84-inch crew cab or a 60-inch regular cab. For 4WD, options include 60-inch and 84-inch crew cabs as well as 60-inch, 108-inch, and 120-inch regular cabs.

Laramie and Limited

These top trims are available exclusively in 4WD, with both offering a choice between a 60-inch or an 84-inch crew cab.

Mechanics

The base model’s 6.4-liter eight-cylinder heavy-duty 16-valve HEMI MDS engine is paired with a six-speed automatic Aisin HD transmission. The chassis cab boasts a 10.5-inch front axle, while its 12-inch banjo rear axle includes an anti-spin differential. The RAM features a five-link front suspension with a stabilizer bar and a solid-axle leaf-spring rear suspension with a heavy-duty stabilizer bar. 
These mechanical specifications, along with the included front/rear disc brakes, front/rear heavy-duty shock absorbers, and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with ready-alert braking, give the 4500 Chassis Cab optimal control, handling, and traction along with its unbeatable power. This year’s RAM 4500 base model boasts 370 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft, of torque.

Seating Configurations

The regular cab has two doors and a three-occupant bench split 40/20/40. The driver’s and passenger’s seats have four-way manual adjustment capabilities, and the seats are trimmed in heavy-duty vinyl for easy cleaning. 
The crew-cab options upgrade to four doors and space for six occupants, with two three-person benches in the front and rear. Passengers in the regular cab get a roomy 62.2 cubic feet of space, while those in the six-passenger crew cab enjoy 124.6 cubic feet of room.
